About Pete

Hi, I am Pete Salean. I am an editor, here at Fit M&B and I am also the site’s founder.

I am a father of five wonderful children aged 8 to 26 years. I have been married – or living in a similar relationship – for more than 25 years of my adult life. I have been divorced twice, and now I am living with my sweet wife, Ria.

All my life I have strived to stay healthy in my mind and my body. I strongly believe that staying healthy is a matter of taking care of every aspect of our existence including our physical body, our food, and nutrition, and our mind, and spirit. Not least our connection to other people, nature, and the universe.

Just like many others – I haven’t always found it easy to stay healthy. One reason for that is that I don’t necessarily love to do what has to be done – which can make motivation difficult. Another is the myriad of “solutions” available on the internet, which can sometimes put an end to the action. Not least, sometimes things happen in life that make it very difficult to do what has to be done to stay healthy – for a period of time.

Throughout my adult life, I have been heavily involved in personal development on physical, and mental levels. I have been a runner for many years, I am a meditation practitioner, have trained in weight lifting and I have struggled with unintended weight gain in my 40s and 50s, but now I have found ways to overcome it and lost 15 kg / 33 lbs of fat in my mid-50s. I have had my share of very lows and I have struggled all my life with procrastination and the ability to focus. I have searched and discovered good and bad strategies to proceed and recover. Sharing my and others’ experiences is the intention of Fit M&B.

I am a certified coach. Further, I am an experienced program manager of organizational change management. I hold degrees in engineering and MBA.

The nickname Pete Salean is my chosen author name that I use as an editor on Fit M&B. My “real” birth name and identity are no secrets and anybody will easily be able to find them in the information provided here on the Fit M&B website.
